What was your coolest summer job?
I worked in my dad’s NAPA Auto Parts store throughout my childhood. I stocked and sold auto parts, turned rotors, mixed paint, made deliveries and cleaned bathrooms. In the 70’s, cars had cool colors like Hugger Orange, Top Banana, and Sublime which was an electric green. Every now and then I wouldn’t get the lid tightened enough before I put the paint can in the mixer which resulted in paint being thrown across the walls and floor. My dad’s paint section looked like it had been tie-dyed!

If you were a cartoon character, who would you be?
Scooby Doo. He got to ride around in the Mystery Machine, hang out with Shaggy, and always got a Scooby Snack. Rooby Rooby Roo!

Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We went to West Palm Beach, FL. Some of our friends offered to let us use their part-time home there. We went snorkeling (first time for both of us) and my husband was stalked by a barracuda. It was hilarious!

What is your favorite TV show?
I grew up watching Little House on the Prairie and to this day it is still my favorite. It expresses the morals and values that I feel are missing from the world today

If you could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
I would have dinner with Dixie Carter. Dixie was from McLemoresville, TN and attended the University of Tennessee. She is known for her roles as Julia Sugarbaker in the TV series Designing Women and Gloria Hodge in Desperate Housewives. I love Dixie because she was an American actress known for her portrayals of Southern women.

What is your biggest fear?
I have a huge fear of heights. I say my fear is heights, but maybe the true fear is falling. I hate the feeling of falling, especially for a great distance.

What was the theme of your Senior Prom?
I don’t remember the theme of my Senior Prom. I didn’t exactly make it there. I had the dress, the shoes, the wrist corsage, and the beehive hairdo. I also had a boyfriend with a 1967 Chevy SS muscle car. On the way to the prom he decided it would be more fun to go to Alligator Alley and drag race. It turned out to be an exciting evening, especially when I got home and had to explain to my parents why my beehive hairdo now looked like a funnel cloud!

What is the furthest you have traveled from home?
When I graduated from dental hygiene school, my husband surprised me with a trip to Switzerland and Germany. My good friend, Patricia, lives there and took time off to be with us. Being avid hikers, we hiked all the different areas of Switzerland. The southern vineyards and forests, the northern glaciers, and the beautiful green mountains where we saw an abundance of wildflowers and the beautiful Swiss cows with their decorative collars and bells. We finished our trip in Germany, viewing famous castles. Truly the trip of my lifetime!

What is your favorite vegetable?
Favorite veggie is asparagus and Brussels sprouts :)

When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was young I wanted to be a teacher. I wanted to teach young children, like kindergarten or first grade. As I got older, I knew I wanted to be in the health field, so here I am 20 years later!

How did you decide on your child’s name?
I have one daughter and her name is Maggie Grace. “Maggie” came from my grandmother that I was very close to. I knew at a young age that if I had a girl I would name her after my grandmother. “Grace” came from a great-aunt that I loved to be around!

Who is the most famous person you have seen?
The most famous person I have seen firsthand would be Carrie Underwood. I saw her in concert in 2016. She is a very well put-together Christian woman and a great role model for a younger generation. I love her music!

What is the worst meal you ever cooked?
The worst meal I ever cooked would be spaghetti with ants. I was cooking for my dad and husband. The noodles had been opened from a previous meal and ants had gotten in. I didn’t realize until the whole meal was cooked and the ants were floating on top of the water. Needless to say I went straight to the store and got more noodles to cook that night. Supper was a little bit delayed.
